Probably didn't have much of a family life. He was stationed on the Grand Line for most of his career, moved back to Marineford briefly, then based on these dates he didn't stay there long.

Dishonorably discharged. That's unusual. Looks like arson, but it was contained quickly. Fined him and kicked him out after a short prison term. That's probably why that obituary said he was at Marineford. Sounds nicer than "in jail".
